About
My name is Nicolas Fauchereau, I am a French national born and raised in Burgundy, France and currently residing in Auckland, New-Zealand.
I am currently holding a Climate Scientist position within the climate applications group at NIWA (National Institute for Water and Atmospheric Research) Auckland.
Prior to that I was working as a senior researcher at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Cape-Town, South Africa, within the Ocean Systems and Climate Group, where I was investigating the relationships between Southern Hemisphere atmospheric variability, upper ocean dynamics and oceanic primary production and CO2 fluxes.
Previous to that I held a post-doctoral fellowship at the oceanography department of the University of Cape-Town, where I was focusing on the variability and predictability of atmospheric circulation, convection and rainfall in Southern Africa at intra-seasonal to interannual time-scales, and its impact on e.g. hydrological processes.
